MEET CHANCE

Chance is a three-year-old German Shepherd who was found as a stray. After no owners could be located, he was labeled as “extremely aggressive” toward both people and dogs. Because of those labels, his future was set to end in euthanasia simply because no one believed he could be safely placed in a home.

When Chance came to our facility, we took the time to truly assess him instead of judging him by his past. It didn’t take long to discover that the story written about him wasn’t the whole truth.

Chance was wonderful with people. While he could be a little shy when strangers got in his face, he was affectionate, eager to learn, and built trust quickly. We also discovered something many had assumed was impossible—Chance was absolutely incredible with other dogs.

Over the next several weeks, we worked with him, got to know his personality, and gave him the opportunity to show us who he really was. Today, Chance is living his best life in his forever home, where he continues to thrive.

Dogs like Chance don’t need labels.

They need patience. They need understanding. They need someone willing to look beyond fear and behavior that may have been misunderstood.

Every dog deserves to be evaluated as an individual, not defined by assumptions or a past they had no control over.
